Lavalamp

From an end-user perspective, Lavalamp enables users to control a device via a rich graphical interface, using a decision-based process taking inputs from different sensors. For example, a rule could be created that would turn on the kettle when the owners' mobile phone came within a mile of the house, and the time was after 5pm, and there was water in the kettle.

Eventually, it is hoped that there will be a web-based interface to allow configuration from any internet-connected host; however, this depends on amount of development time available.

The system communicates wirelessly, using strong encryption, so you can rest safe in the knowledge that no outsiders will turn on your kettle at 3am.
